Lars is from Sweden and trained at National Swedish Riding School- Stromsholm. He lives now in Los Angles, CA. He has trained many horses to G.P. and he recently was invited to the young horse championships in Europe with his former stallion Mix Max. You can check out his website. I have a few openings in the clinic and may offer a semi-private spot if needed. Last year I think we charged $140.00 a ride.....The cost of the lesson always depends on airfare prices....And I will try to have a speaker system that works this time! Contact me asap if you would like to ride!

Summer Meeting July 25: OSU Stillwater campus in the McElroy Auditorium. Three lectures: Equine Metabolic Syndrome with Dr. Todd Holbrook, Back and Hind Limb lameness with Dr. Dustin Devine, and Energetics (nutrition) with Dr. Dave Freeman. After lunch there will be small group demonstrations and tours of the Equine Performance Lab Treadmill with Dr. Sabrina Cummings and CT scan with Ms. Carolyn Rodebush. We will also have a brief business meeting and lunch.

"TAI CHI FOR RIDERS"
The Green Country Chapter of the Oklahoma Dressage Society will present its third educational program of the year on Saturday, September 26 at Kay Kamish's Rivendell Farm (25395 S. 4130 Road, #B; directions are attached) in Claremore. The program will begin at 3:00 p.m. with Kay leading the group in unmounted exercises which do not require a mat. Wear comfortable clothing and shoes. No sweat is required! Following the unmounted portion, Kay will do a 20 minute mounted lunge demonstration with one of her students who is familiar with Tai Chi. ( NOTE: lawn chairs might be a good thing to bring for this portion of the program! ) After this, Kay will then do a lunge session with someone who has never done Tai Chi before to demonstrate how just a few adjustments can bring about dramatic changes for the better!
Sarah will be here Oct 2-4 at Knightmare farm. She will be doing 4-5 lessons on Friday and 10-12 Saturday and Sunday. Private lessons will cost $120 and semi-private lessons will cost $75. You do not need to ride all three days. Auditors $10. 5-6 stalls will be available at Sandy Thompson's farm which is a 5 minute drive from Knightmare .

Green Country Chapter's Annual Christmas Party and Awards Banquet will be "south" this year at Teresa Broughton's Drafty Crossing Farm (4352 E. 185th St.S., Bixby, OK 74008). Festivities will begin at 7:00 p.m. on Friday evening, December 11. GCC will furnish the smoked turkey and ham and asks that the members bring pot-luck dishes to finish out the meal. A "Dirty Santa" gift exchange will be held ($20 limit on gifts) for those who want to participate. Presentations of the GCC 2009 Year-End Awards will be made to the winners in the various divisions. A short meeting will be held to allow the membership to officially vote the candidates in for the 2010 GCC Board of Directors. Those individuals seeking a two-year term on the board include Kathy Burrows, Cynthia Ramsey and Kendall West. Current board members seeking another two-year term include Nicole Burrus, and Marsha Cullen.
WE hope to see many of our GCC friends at our annual holiday gathering. Mark your calendars for December 11!

Hello Fellow GCC Members!
Please add to your calendars our first educational meeting, Dressage 101 with Laurie Hedlund. Laurie will present arena etiquette, schooling show dress, and other helpful information for the dressage competitor at the Horse of Course in Claremore beginning at 1pm on Sunday March 7th. This event is free!!! Donations will be accepted for a Junior Rider Week-end camp to be held (hopefully) later in the year, if you would like to help support this, we will have a donation box there. Horse of Course (HOC) has all their winter clothing on sale 50% off and GCC members will get an additional 10% off.
Please bring finger foods to share. HOC will provide some as well. Drinks and table service will be provided. We will have some chairs, but if those who could would bring chairs, that would be great! Carpooling is also a good idea if you can...as parking may be tight!
